Tom Fazio
Golf Course Architect
Biography
Tom Fazio is widely considered the most prolific and commercially successful golf course architect of the modern era. With over 100 original designs and 200+ renovations across four decades, Fazio's portfolio reads like a who's who of elite American golf. His courses consistently dominate top-100 lists, and his client roster includes the most discerning private club members in the country. Fazio learned the craft working under his uncle, George Fazio, and established his own firm in the early 1970s.
Design Philosophy
Fazio is known for creating visually dramatic, immaculately manicured courses that feel both natural and grand. His designs emphasize bold shaping, strategic bunkering, and a seamless integration of constructed features with native terrain. He is meticulous about sight lines and the golfer's visual experience from tee to green.
